The Mindful Nonsmoker is Frank Oden's coaching-based method for achieving nicotine or cannabis freedom — without pills, patches, or willpower. The hardest part of quitting isn't the chemistry of nicotine or THC. It's the relationship a smoker has built with smoking thoughts and triggers over years or decades — the rituals, the associations, the stories. Unplug all that, and the rest falls into place faster than most people expect.
As a former 30-year smoker turned clinician, speaker, and wellness coach, Frank has worked with thousands of clients across more than 20 years in behavioral health and over 30,000 hours of individual and group coaching. His methods draw on positive psychology, cognitive-behavioral tools, mindfulness-based relapse prevention, motivational neuro-linguistics and applied auto-suggestion to support genuine, sustainable change.
Through Denver Tobacco Clinic, Frank’s signature program combines clinical best practices with flexible coaching techniques to address both the mental and behavioral sides of smoking and relapse. Hypnosis recordings are provided free-of-charge as reinforcement after cessation, but the coaching process is focused on creating positive mindset, decisiveness, and strengths-based, self-directed behavior change.

In private coaching, I help you apply your own strengths, insight, and experience to build the mindset and structure for success. Each client engagement is unique and entirely client-centered, combining principles from cognitive-behavioral coaching, mindfulness, and positive psychology to support steady, confident progress.
A typical program spans about 30 days, moving from assessment and preparation through action and follow-up integration. For an additional layer of reinforcement after success, I include a recorded hypnosis audio to support continued confidence.
The Mindful Nonsmoker
For those who prefer a one-time group experience and affordable access, I conduct Mindful Nonsmoker events — a live, three-hour interactive coaching session for smokers, vapers, chewers and NRT users who feel ready to stop now.
This program teaches mindfulness as a practical skill rather than a meditation practice. Nonjudgmental awareness can be used to reframe craving, to respond skillfully in trigger situations, and to maintain clarity of commitment. It follows the same evidence-based framework I use in private coaching — presented in a fast-paced, interactive format that gives you a clear and complete pathway to success.
My webinars and seminars are complete, stand-alone experiences that have helped thousands of smokers, chewers, vapers and NRT users become and remain nicotine-free for life. Each participant also receives a downloadable handbook and guided audio resources including a 45 minute hypnotherapy audio for ongoing reinforcement. The webinar itself is a complete, stand-alone experience designed to enable readiness, willingness, and confidence of your ability to succeed.
