Maybe you know someone who stopped smoking easily. They didn't struggle or fail, they just threw away the pack and never looked back. And when you ask them how they did it, they almost always say, "I just made up my mind." I was a heavy smoker myself for 30 years, and whenever I heard someone say that, it always made me feel like a loser — What's wrong with me? Why can't I just do that?
But eventually I learned that I can. And did, 22 years ago. And so can you. You can stop just that easily yourself, immediately and permanently. You don't need patches, gum or medication of any kind because the problem isn't about physical addiction to nicotine. Every smoker knows that "craving" isn't really a medical problem: it's just the temporary startup challenge of "the mental game."
When we try to power through those moments with strength or willpower, we're using a battle mentality that, whether it succeeds in the moment or not, is always going to feel like struggle and perpetuates the uncertainty that often leads to disappointment. In that mode, we're constantly "Trying to Quit." But when we stop "Trying" to quit and learn to manage trigger moments with the clarity, perspective and equanimity of mindfulness techniques, the battle vanishes and only the Mindful Nonsmoker remains.
My coaching process has evolved from simple hypnotherapy beginnings 21 years ago (originally HypNoSmoke) to incorporate Clinical Tobacco Treatment expertise, Positive Psychology Health and Well-being Coaching, Cognitive-Behavioral Interventions, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention techniques. Those are the tools I share in sessions and webinars, as well as teaching lessons learned about neuro-linguistics, auto-suggestion and self-hypnosis.
The group events are motivational, educational, enjoyable (I'm also a veteran entertainer and public speaker) and 100% focused on immediate outcome. No retail products or additional services are sold or promoted. None are necessary.
Since 2005, I've worked with thousands of smokers, chewers, vapers and other NRT and THC users in my clinical practice and conducted over 100 group events throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. My clinical methodology has continued to grow and improve through every interaction, and current seminar topics include:
- How to dissolve the power of "cravings" in 30 seconds or less
- Why willpower doesn't work, and what to use instead
- Why NRT is unnecessary and counterproductive
- How to conquer triggers (not avoid them)
- How to make instant gratification work for you instead of against you
- How to leverage your actual strengths instead of struggling against weaknesses
- How to learn from your previous attempts and get it right this time
- How to make yourself ready, willing, and able instead of waiting for it to happen
You'll learn how to take control of your own attitudes and behaviors, how to beat any physical or mental dependence, how to banish cravings and prevent relapse, and how to capture and retain the most important factor in any success: the power of positive expectation.
Seating is limited to 20 participants for an interactive, personal experience.
At the conclusion of the Mindful Nonsmoker webinar, you'll also receive:
- Surf the Urge: guided mindfulness audio
- 45-minute Guided Meditation / Hypnosis audio session
- The Mindful Nonsmoker Reference Handbook
- A curated collection of mindfulness practice resources
This is a live, real-time, interactive event. Not a recording. Bring your toughest questions and I'll give you straight answers. Group is capped at 20.
Registration fee: $75. Less than a carton of cigarettes in Denver, less than a box of Nicorette 4mg gum, paid back in two weeks of not smoking. Tickets are non-refundable due to the 20-seat cap, but registration fees are fully transferable to any future Mindful Nonsmoker session.
You don't need pills, patches, or products. You don't even need willpower. All you really have to change is your mind.
— Frank Oden, Denver Tobacco Clinic (formerly HypNoSmoke)
"Since taking your seminar I have stayed a non-smoker. My mother hasn't had a smoke since the seminar either. You were incredible, and you changed my life. I'm referring everyone I know that wants to quit, to you."
— Marc B., Denver, CO
"I took your seminar a month or two ago. There have been multiple times where I would have lost the battle to nicotine but with your help I don't even give it a second look. You have given me my life back."
— Geoff N., Denver, CO
